Abstract:
|
Modern high throughput data sets arising in genetic studies contain important multivariate information. Thus, developing statistical methods to detect multivariate relationships in high dimensions have both significant statistical and scientific relevance. We develop an estimator for detecting sparse structures in high dimensions and provide a rigorous statistical analysis of its consistency. Study of this estimator produces several mathematical results of independent interest. In addition, simulation studies will be presented which show the estimator has good performance even under perturbations of the model under consideration. Finally, an example of the use of the estimator in a high dimensional data set will be demonstrated.
