Abstract:

Full likelihood analysis of spatially sampled/correlated observations can be difficult if not impossible. One way to get around such difficulty is through pseudo (pairwise) likelihood. We study large sample properties of the resulting estimators. Consistency and asymptotic normality are established under suitable regularity conditions with increasing domain. We show how the general theory can be applied to specific spatial models and sampling schemes.
