Abstract:

CAUSE is an organization that has been promoting undergraduate statistics education since 2002. The research advisory board (RAB) of CAUSE is comprised of 9 members from 7 institutions of higher education. RAB goals include fostering high quality research, promoting research that is cumulative, and supporting "young" researchers in statistics education. In an effort to accomplish these three goals, the RAB developed and implemented a collaborative research mentoring model in 2006 that connects new statistics education researchers with experienced researchers. This research mentoring program graduated one cohort of three clusters and is currently mentoring its second cohort of clusters. The purpose of this paper is two-fold: 1) to describe the research mentoring model, and 2) to offer connections between the research projects of the three current clusters.
