Abstract:
|
Studies indicate the need for project-based learning and exposure to research methods at the undergraduate level. However, the focus at many institutions is on undergraduate research conducted by junior or senior math majors. A recent study done at our institution indicated a high level of learning occurred when elementary statistics students were paired with students in another course using real data. The goal of this presentation is to share how incorporating investigative projects into a general education statistics course impacted curricular change at a liberal arts institution.
