Abstract:
|
Although statisticians are generally recognized as playing a critical role in the development of new pharmaceutical agents, recognition is primarily focused on the role of the 'clinical statistician'. However, there are numerous areas in the process from drug discovery through drug manufacturing where 'non-clinical statisticians' play an equally critical role. Discussion will center on better identifying these other areas and finding ways to increase the appreciation of the contributions of these non-clinical statisticians toward pharmaceutical research and development.
