Abstract:
|
The empirical likelihood is a nonparametric likelihood function that is analogous to its parametric counterpart. In particular, observations are assumed to be independent, and identically distributed. There are several empirical likelihood research papers concerning dependent data. However, there is no literature concerning the effects of spatial dependence on empirical likelihood procedures that are carried out assuming independence. This research presents the effects of such a violation on the asymptotic distribution of the empirical likelihood ratio.
