Abstract:
|
Proc IML is the only SAS procedure that uses matrices. Unlike other proc steps, PROC IML can create modules, functions and can be used for modern computing purposes. However, this procedure is not frequently used. The purpose of this review is to highlight this important procedure and to connect the dots between S-plus and SAS in order to provide SAS users with a better understanding of the scope and power of SAS. Most importantly, those who are familiar with S-plus will be able to easily relate to SAS. To establish the relationship between S-plus and SAS, a pharmacokinetics (PK) module will be developed and discussed.
