Abstract:
|
Accuracy of a diagnostic test is quantified by two measures- the sensitivity and specificity of the test. Other measures like positive and negative predictive values are useful to a clinician but these measures depend on the prevalence. Diagnostic likelihood ratios -positive likelihood ratio and negative likelihood ratio are another two measures which give useful information and unlike predictive values do not depend on the prevalence of the test. In this presentation I would like to extend the use of diagnostic likelihood ratios to diagnostic tests and its use in comparing two medical tests.
