Abstract:

Coefficients of individual agreement (CIA) between observers or methods of measurement are based on the comparison of the between and within-observer mean squared deviation (MSD). Methods for estimation of these coefficients for data where each observer makes unmatched replicated measurements on each subject have been developed. In this presentation we propose a new method utilizing the generalized linear mixed model to estimate the coefficients of individual agreement for binary data which consist of matched sets of repeated measurements made under different conditions. The conditions may represent different time points, raters, laboratories, treatments, etc. Our approach allows the values of the measured variable and the magnitude of disagreement to vary across the conditions. The reliability of the estimation method is examined via a simulation study.
