Abstract:
|
Keeping undergraduate biology students and medical residents interested in statistics, when the majority of the students are taking the class as a requirement can be challenging. I have attempted to accomplish this goal by use of twists on the birthday problem, paradoxes, fallacies in numerical reasoning, papers with whoppers of statistical mistakes, Jeopardy style questions, and some one-liners about statistics. I will present examples of techniques I use in my course instruction.
