Abstract:
|
We introduce models for the analysis of functional data observed at multiple visits. The observed dynamic behaviour of functional data is decomposed as the sum between a deterministic functional mean and a multilevel stochastic functional structure. Computational feasibility is assured by using principal component bases for the functional processes. The methodology is motivated by and applied to a Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) study designed to study the changes in brain connectivity in control and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients.
