Abstract:

The previous speakers provided a synopsis of key ideas for improving methodologies in the financial sector. Statistics has a critical role to play in the financial recovery of our nation and its future financial stability. Our expertise also must be applied to guard against poor use of methodologies that are developed without proper oversight. The primary purpose of this panel and floor discussion is to continue this critical conversation and to engage a greater number of statisticians in this area of intellectual and practical inquiry.
