Address: 3040 Cornwallis Road, RTC, NC, ,
Keywords: Quality ; client satisfaction
Abstract:

Much---some say too much---has been written about quality. Some has the ring of dogma or prescription. Some simply state the obvious. Whatever the justification, the Quality activities usually seem overly complex and burdensome. At the same time, PDs/clients are dissatisfied with the performance of the statistician on their projects. They complain: it's not right, it's expensive; and it's late. We present practical, unobtrusive, and evidence- based Quality methods for aligning clients' expectations, PD's management functions, and statisticians' performance to achieve win-win solutions. The measures are worthwhile without undue burden on project resources. The key to mutual satisfaction rests on statisticians empowering their audiences and creating the basis for satisfaction with the work performed.
