Abstract:

Data analysis of transactions is an important work for retail banks. In this paper, we discuss the transactions data analysis of one of the largest banks in China. The transaction data are analyzed combined with the geographic information system (GIS). The geographic information, such as the geographic distribution of customers and bank branches, can also be analyzed with the transaction data together. The analysis results including the correlation analysis of different kinds of transactions, the geographic distribution of transactions, the relationship between transactions and geographic entities, etc, are presented in this paper. These analysis results are helpful for banks to clearly understand their business and customers.
