Abstract:
|
Most river flow data taken over time are periodically stationary; that is, their mean and covariance functions are periodic with respect to time. Periodic Autoregressive Moving Average (PARMA) model have been utilized to analyze trend in various concentrations in the water quality data taken from Minnesota River. Qualities of Water Trend (QWTREND) program have been used for the parameter estimation of the model which is developed by United States Geological Survey. A comparative study using Seasonal Kendall (SEAKEN), a nonparametric method, has been discussed. Tests were conducted on stream flow and water-quality data for the Minnesota River at several locations taken from 1970 to 2008.
