Abstract:

Developed from Bayesian theory, Bayesian statistics regard parameter as a random variable, which obtains posterior distribution by integrating prior distribution and sample data. The largest difference between Bayesian statistics and classical statistics is that prior information can be used entirely with Bayesian statistics. Based on the posterior distribution of parameter, Bayesian statistics has begun to be applied to explain and solve statistical problems in medical research. However, the applications on Bayesian statistics in medical device clinical trials are rare in China. In this paper, we elaborate application of Bayesian statistics in one of our medical device clinical trials, and compare the study results with those got by classical statistics.
