Abstract:

Various algorithms have been developed for computing sample weight adjustments to account for features such as nonresponse and coverage errors (post-stratification). Some of these algorithms are now available in commercial software products such as SUDAAN® and WESVAR®. In addition, some methods for obtaining weight adjustments can be found by adapting existing procedures and functions in general purpose statistical software packages such as SAS®. This paper will present an overview of software that can be used to create weight adjustments. The focus is on options that already exist in software products and are relatively easy to use, particularly for small to mid-size studies.
