Abstract:

An audience response system (aka "clickers" or "remotes") can be a tool to assess how well the students understand the material and foster a more active learning environment by potentially keeping the students engaged throughout the class period. In this roundtable discussion, we will discuss the pluses and minuses of using an audience response system. How can these systems be used to foster a good learning environment? Are there differences in the effectiveness and methods of using clickers between large and small classes? Both past users and people who are interested in using audience response systems are welcome to exchange ideas and effective approaches for the best use of clickers in class.
