Abstract:

An age specific reference range (ARR) is essential in clinical medicine. The methodology usage is commonly from regression mean. The residual diagnosis and data transformation are employed repeatedly in the process of constructing ARR. Based on final normal distribution of residual the ARR will been constructed. This study illustrates the construction of reference range relating gestational age, for UMBAPI, DVPIV and NBL. And, the results will further link to outcome studies. The residual normal distribution can be treated as a threshold distribution of some measurement (e.g., UMBAPI, DVPIV or NBL). Thus, beyond the threshold value disease (outcome) presents, otherwise disease ansent. This is an aggregate method from constructing ARR to link with disease outcome and highlight a threshold concept relating medicine or biology.
