Abstract:

In this talk, we consider two different approaches to thresholding activation maps from fMRI studies. The first, based on multiple comparisons and random field theory, chooses a threshold on the basis of controlling FWER. The second is based on sparse whole-brain classifiers: LASSO and Elastic Net type regression estimators. The two methods will be compared on a neuroeconomics experiment where the goal is predicting whether or not subjects will decide to make a purchase.
