Title: The Virtual Data Analysis Classroom: A Live Demonstration

Abstract:

This presentation will provide a live demonstration of a segment of a data analysis virtual class delivered via the synchronous symposium tool Centra. Along with the demonstration, pedagogical issues that arise in the context of a virtual classroom will be discussed. Pros and cons of such a delivery method both from the points of view of class participants and from the point of view of the instructor will be outlined. The discussion will consider instruction at all levels, from undergraduate to PhD.
