Abstract:

The threat posed by biological agents employed in a terrorist attack on the United States is arguable the most important homeland security challenge of our era. Can the tools for assessing the risk of natural disaster be used to assess the risk of terrorist attack? This questions will be addressed in the context of the National Research Council's report "Department of Homeland Security's Biothreat Risk Assessment: A Call for Change." In particular, this talk will consider strategies for risk assessment with intelligent adversaries.
