Abstract:

Storing data and indexing is fine if you have the luxury of time and you know what you're looking for. But if you want to do exploratory data analysis of large data sets, or if what you're interested in changes over time, or the time between receiving the data and making a decision is short, then these solutions become too expensive. In this talk I will present an alternative approach that answers these challenges, synthesizing collection and processing in a unique way. This new approach requires a change in how well-known statistical methods are implemented and how data is analyzed.
