JSM 2005 - Toronto

Abstract #302316

This is the preliminary program for the 2005 Joint Statistical Meetings in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Currently included in this program is the "technical" program, schedule of invited, topic contributed, regular contributed and poster sessions; Continuing Education courses (August 7-10, 2005); and Committee and Business Meetings. This on-line program will be updated frequently to reflect the most current revisions.

To View the Program:
You may choose to view all activities of the program or just parts of it at any one time. All activities are arranged by date and time.

The views expressed here are those of the individual authors

Title: Partially Nonlinear Models and Their Applications
Author(s): Runze Li*+ and Lei Nie

Keywords: Generalized likelihood ratio test ; partially linear model ; profile least squares
Abstract:

In this talk, I'll propose a class of partial nonlinear models. Two estimation procedures for parameters in the partially nonlinear models are developed. Asymptotic normality of the resulting estimates are established, and an estimation procedure and generalized likelihood ratio test for the baseline function in the partially nonlinear models is proposed. Asymptotic properties of the newly proposed estimation procedure and test are derived. Finite sample performance of the proposed inference procedures are assessed by Monte Carlo simulation studies, and the proposed procedures by an application in the field of ecology are illustrated.
