Abstract:

I have been involved in international studies of water-borne pathogens for more than 16 years. Even though I have just joined FDA, I am still involved in a smaller research study on cholera prevention. I have worked on several studies conducted in Bangladesh, Peru, and Mexico. I would like to talk about issues such as data management, statistical issues relating to combining clinical and environmental data, and overcoming cultural barriers when partnering in research.
