Description

Machine learning has been developing as a field for a number of years, mostly within the computer science and engineering communities. Many ideas from statistics have been borrowed or "reinvented". On the other hand, some of their ideas could also be useful in statistics. In the last few years, a number of statisticians have been working on the interface, for the benefit of both communities. This session will present some of these contributions.
