There is considerable controversy about how health-related quality of life should be handled after the death of a patient in a clinical trial. In this roundtable discussion, we will discuss the general issue and the advantages and disadvantages of explicit methods (e.g., imputation) and implicit methods (e.g., leaving missing) of handling this problem.
