Abstract:
|
The R statistical computing environment (www.r-project.org) provides a number of ways of specifying and rendering graphical displays of statistical data. I will review some of the most familiar approaches native to the system, and will briefly discuss the role of intersystems interfaces (e.g., www.omegahat.org) in enlarging the repertory of graphical methods. I will conclude with a number of problems originating in bioinformatics that introduce needs for new graphical capabilities in R.
