Abstract - #300329
Title: A Statistical Perspective on the Judicial Decisions in the Florida 2000 Presidential Election
Author(s): Michael Finkelstein*+
Affiliation(s): Columbia Law School
Address: 299 Park Avenue, 16th Floor, New York City, New York, 10171, USA
Keywords: presidential election ; voting ; undervote ; Florida ; Gore ; Bush
Abstract:

A statistical perspective on the undervote in the 2000 presidential election suggests that it was the Florida Supreme Court, not the U. S. Supreme Court, that gave the election to Bush. The data also suggest that the U. S. Supreme Court's equal protection rationale for denying a recount was flawed.
