Central College will host the following events during Math Awareness Week, April 21-25: "Mathematics on the Internet", Al Hibbard, Central College Monday 12:00 p.m. "Stand and Deliver" Monday 7:00 p.m. "Donald in Mathmagic Land" and "N is a Number" Tuesday 7:00 p.m. Honors Convocation Lecture "Surrounded by Codes: The Mathematics of Identification", Joe Gallian, Univ. of Minnesota-Duluth Thursday 11:00 a.m. In addition, all week we'll have a Problem of the Day for the campus to solve, with prizes, and a display in the student center. | Mathematics Awareness Month is sponsored each year by the Joint Policy Board for Mathematics to recognize the importance of mathematics through written materials and an accompanying poster that highlight mathematical developments and applications in a particular area. |
