Florissant Valley is holding Math Awareness Week on April 15-19, 1996; a schedule of events follows.
Monday, April 15 12:00 - 1:00 pm, SM-203
"Proclamation of Mathematics Awareness Week, 1996"
"PERT: Decision Making in the 90's.

Speaker: Carol Edwards, Associate Dean of MSET Division.
All are welcome since no mathematical background is assumed!

Attendance Prizes: Calculators and T-shirts

Tuesday, April 16 12:00 - 1:00 pm, Student Center Multipurpose
2nd Annual Mathematics Awareness Week Contest for teams of up to three students.
Faculty are also encouraged to participate!

Grand Prize: 3 free credit hours to be applied towards a mathematics course (for student teams)

Wednesday, April 17 1:00 - 2:00 pm, SM124
Presentation by Ron Eldringhoff, Bob Limburg and Joe Karnowski about careers in mathematics, operations research and statistics.

Mathematics Awareness Month is sponsored each year by the Joint Policy Board for Mathematics to recognize the importance of mathematics through written materials and an accompanying poster that highlight mathematical developments and applications in a particular area.
