Centre College

Centre College, Danville, KY had several Math Awareness Week activities. Posters were placed in strategic places on campus -- including one in the computer center with appropriate World Wide Web sites.

A student, Amos Hall, presented his award-winning paper "Settlement Devices and the Normal Distribution." This was followed by an "Undercut" Tournament, won by student Lisa Willis, and the annual Math vs. Physics volleyball game and picnic.

On Saturday four teams of students participated in a Road Rally devised by faculty member John Wilson. This required lots of decision making in the face of uncertainty! Students Mike Bradshaw and Eric Gauthier were the winners.
