2006 DEMING LECTURER NOMINATIONS - Deadline: December 1, 2005
Do you know someone you would like to see receive the Deming Lecturer Award and speak at the 2006 Joint Statistical Meetings in Seattle? PROPOSALS FOR ASA/BJS STATISTICAL METHODOLOGICAL RESEARCH PROGRAM - Deadline: December 1, 2005
The ASA Committee on Law and Justice Statistics announces a small grant program for the analysis of Bureau of Justice Statistics and other justice-related data. Award preference will be given to research using BJS data. This program is designed to encourage the creative and appropriate use of these data to inform substantive and methodological issues.
ASA/NSF FEDERAL STATISTICS RESEARCH PROGRAM - Deadline: December 10, 2005
The ASA administers the ASA/NSF Research Fellowship Programs with support from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and several federal statistical agencies. The upcoming deadline is for the ASA/NSF/Census and the ASA/NSF/BLS Research Fellowship Programs.
JSM 2006 ONLINE SUBMISSION FOR CONTRIBUTED ABSTRACTS - Deadline: February 1, 2006
The online submission process for contributed abstracts will open on December 1, 2005, and close on February 1, 2006. Submit an abstract.
DON OWEN AWARD - Deadline: February 15, 2006
The San Antonio Chapter is currently accepting nominations for the 2006 Don Owen Award, presented annually to a statistician who embodies the accomplishments of Donald B. Owen, from ASA Chapters nationwide. The nominee must be a member of the ASA, but is not required to be a member of the nominating Chapter. Nomination guidelines.
WILKS MEMORIAL MEDAL NOMINATIONS - Deadline: April 1, 2006 (new deadline)
The 2006 Samuel S. Wilks Memorial Medal Committee invites members to submit nominations for this award, to be presented at the 2006 annual meetings in August. The award consists of a medal, a citation, and an honorarium.
BRYANT SCHOLARSHIP NOMINATIONS - Deadline: April 1, 2006 (new deadline)
The Edward C. Bryant Scholarship for Outstanding Graduate Student in Survey Statistics is awarded each August at the Joint Statistical Meetings. The winner receives a certificate and a $1,500 cash prize. Contact Elizabeth A. Stasny with questions about submitting a nomination.

HANDS-ON BAYESIAN DATA ANALYSIS USING WINBUGS - Cleveland, Ohio - December 15, 2005
This workshop is designed to provide statisticians, scientists, or engineers with the tools necessary to begin to use Bayesian inference in applied problems. NATIONAL HEALTH POLICY CONFERENCE - Washington, DC - February 6-7, 2006

XXIII INTERNATIONAL BIOMETRICS CONFERENCE - Montreal, Quebec, Canada - July 16-21, 2006
The XXIII International Biometrics Conference, hosted by McGill University and the Eastern North American Region of International Biometric Society, will focus on development and application of statistical and mathematical methods for agricultural, biological, clinical, ecological, epidemiological, environmental, medical, and pharmaceutical research. Abstract submission closes January 16, 2006.
