In this presentation, I will share the skillset I utilized to become a founding team member to a $9.5 billion dollar start up company while I was still in college. I am both the youngest and only female on the team. Ironically, as I present, I will share how one of those skills is public speaking itself! I will address the importance of female statisticians being able to stand out in their careers in order to work their way up the corporate ladder. The proposition here is that taking ownership over public speaking will empower female data scientists and statisticians. How can a statistician stand out if they only hide behind their statistical software all day? I will provide tips to help every woman become a great speaker. How can a young stat student get a kick-start to their career? I will share how I was able to juggle work with school in order to obtain work experience before graduation. I will reinforce my skillset advice by discussing various findings from research. I am here to inspire young female stat graduates and to motivate well-established female statisticians.
