The presentation will focus on developing leadership skills at all levels of volunteer activities. Volunteer settings create inherent challenges that are different from the work-place setting. To be discussed are tips for successfully leading others with whom you may never meet in person. Building relationships with people and learning to develop a team; this skill is essential for both the success of projects and the sustainability of an organization. Challenges surrounding volunteer activities: e.g., the time investment with a volunteer project, different levels of motivation or reasons people for participate in volunteer projects, and how to work with different levels of motivation. Similarities and differences between leading and managing people.
