The presentation will focus on developing leadership skills at all levels of volunteer activities. Volunteer settings create inherent challenges that are different from the work-place setting. To be discussed are tips for successfully leading others with whom you may never meet in person. Building relationships with people and learning to develop a team; this skill is essential for both the success of projects and the sustainability of an organization. Challenges surrounding volunteer activities: e.g., the time investment with a volunteer project, different levels of motivation or reasons people for participate in volunteer projects, and how to work with different levels of motivation.
