Abstract:

For several years, MLB has kept an accurate record of pitch locations. This data, known as pitchFX data, uses cameras to track each pitch and records all the coordinate data. In the presentation, we will propose some statistical models for evaluating each umpire's ability to correctly call balls and strikes.
