Abstract:
|
D-optimal criterion is often used to construct response surface designs, however it is not robust against misspecification of a response surface. In practice, we never know the true response function, and proposed models are only approximately true. D-optimal minimax design criterion has been proposed and studied by many authors for various regression models, for example, Huber (1973), Wiens (1992), Fang and Wiens (2000) and Zhou (2001, 2008), and D-optimal minimax designs are model robust. Both the variance and the bias of an estimator are considered in the minimax design criterion. Examples will be presented to compare the similarities and differences between D-optimal designs and D-optimal minimax designs.
