Intermediate R Programming — Continuing Education Course
Section for Statistical Programmers and Analysts
Instructor(s): Duncan Murdoch, The University of Western Ontario
This course will cover R from a programming perspective. It will cover some under-the-hood details of the programming model, and will proceed to teach its participants how to write R packages. The course will cover the technical details of writing packages, but it will also cover the philosophy, and good programming and documentation practices. The course assumes participants are familiar with R as users, and are interested in becoming developers of R packages. The course starts with a review of the material in A First Course in Statistical Programming with R and progresses to more advanced material.
