Abstract:
|
The Director, Operational Test and Evaluation is responsible to oversee all Operational Test and Evaluation within the Department of Defense. These field tests are required before a Major Defense Acquisition Program can go into full-rate production. The office of the Director has, since 1992, had a close working relationship with the Committee on National Statistics. This paper will relate how that interaction has shaped and changed the way the Department of Defense has done testing, and explore remaining challenges.
