Important information about the safe use of veterinary drug products may be gleaned from the clinical pathology data obtained during the field study. Although these studies are limited in the number of subjects, often multiple clinical pathology samples offer insight into possible issues or safety concerns when using the drug under actual conditions of use. The presentation will be a veterinarian’s clinical perspective with a primary focus on companion animal drug studies, and some insight into production and food animal drug studies. Discussion will include the importance of outliers, trends, and determining the relationship between clinically and statistically significant findings.
