An innovative reporting solution was implemented for mixed mode survey data collection organization, where the pipeline of data (and associated paradata) is now a firehose! In addition to providing a high-level view of the BI solution implemented, this presentation will examine some of the challenges and the best practices that we addressed in each of these areas within the complex reporting life cycle: *Making sense of the semi-structured and transactional source data. *Gathering business requirements and analyzing the business process. *Designing the data warehouse, dimensional model, and the ETL processes. *Providing data access for both real-time reporting and exploratory analysis. *Developing reports that met the needs of both novice and power users. *Creating a report distribution portal and dashboards for simplifying end-users' access to reports. This actionable information provides critical and timely access to data, and demonstrates an approach for report development that is agnostic to a specific project. A secondary goal of the presentation would be to facilitate discussion and knowledge-sharing on reporting solutions being implemented in other organizations.
