Keywords: Geospatial Analysis

Geospatial Analysis is the finest example of data visualization products today. It produces the maximum amount of information of statistical accounts data. Join the adventure as we explore the world of geospatial heat maps using R. I will cover how to create choropleth (heat) maps using R's choroplethr package developed by Ari Lamstein. I will show the different types of maps that can be made, importing data and data structure needed to create the map. I will identify some statistical measures that could be useful for analytical purpose as well as research projects. Participants will walk away with the knowledge on how to create heat maps using the choroplethr package and using statistical methods to analyze geographical areas. With this skill set one can better support their office’s mission when it comes to data analytics that has a geographic component.
