A brief overview of factors to consider when implementing stability and EOSL procedures for infant formula will be presented. A broad outline of the infant formula batch manufacturing process along with the current regulation will be given. An outline of factors to be considered when designing a stability testing program will then be presented including: sample design for sampling from a batch process, consideration of variance components, assessment of historical data using , assay variability, etc...
