Data Science Hackathon

GATO365 invites high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to the Data Science Hackathon, a dynamic event designed to spark interest in data science. Participants will engage with real-world data from domains like Spotify and sports, learning to create compelling data visualizations. The hackathon includes two weeks of preparatory instruction through videos and quizzes, culminating in a competitive event. It's an online journey of learning and innovation, with registration open from March 15th to April 1st. The hackathon runs from April 27th-28th, following instructional sessions on April 13th-14th and 20th-21st. Eligibility requires completion of 10 instructional videos, quizzes, and attendance at two office hours.

The 9th Workshop on Biostatistics and Bioinformatics

Registration is now open for the 9th Workshop on Biostatistics and Bioinformatics in Atlanta, USA on May 3-5, 2024. See the Conference Website for more information and to register.

The keynote speaker is Dr Michael Kosorok, W.R. Kenan, Jr. Distinguished Professor, Department of Biostatistics, and Professor, Department of Statistics and Operations Research, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the current President, Institute of Mathematical Statistics.

There will be invited talks by distinguished researchers, and a poster session by young researchers and graduate students.

The workshop will be providing partial travel awards to selected conference participants. Priority will be given to senior graduate students, post-graduate, recent PhDs, junior faculty, and under-represented groups. Check the application of travel award for young and minority researchers.

Statistics in the Age of AI

The conference "Statistics in the Age of AI" will take place on May 9-11, 2024 at George Washington University in Washington, DC. This conference aims to bring together researchers in academics and industries to explore the impact of AI on statistical research and education and also to brainstorm how statistics can contribute to AI. The conference features two short courses (conformal prediction; causal inference), multiple talk sessions, one poster session, and two panels on research and education/practice in the age of AI respectively. Registrations for the conference (May 10 and 11) and short courses (May 9), poster abstract submission, and hotel reservations are all open now.

Design and Analysis of Experiments 2024 (DAE 2024)

DAE 2024 will bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss ideas and techniques for designing and analyzing effective experiments. As with earlier meetings, this twelfth convening of the successful DAE series emphasizes interaction and encourages participation of young researchers, while focusing on rapidly evolving developments in both theory and practice. Each of the topic sessions will feature at least one early-career speaker. There will be poster sessions, roundtable discussions, a student award competition, and mentoring opportunities. Financial support will be provided (subject to funding) for student attendees, and to others as available.

8th International Workshop in Sequential Methodologies

The Department of Mathematics at Utah Valley University (UVU) is pleased to organize the 8th International Workshop in Sequential Methodologies (IWSM2024) during May 21- 24, 2024. The Department of Mathematics at UVU is located on the main campus in the city of Orem in the state of Utah, USA.

The International Workshop in Sequential Methodologies (IWSM) is a biennial conference that covers all aspects of sequential methodologies in statistics, applied mathematics, information theory, change point detection, and virtually any applications in mathematical finance, quality control, clinical trials, signal and image processing, etc. The goal of the workshop is to bring together researchers and users from all areas of sequential methodologies and beyond. The presentations are not limited to the field of sequential analysis. Speakers from other areas of probability and statistics are welcome.

ICSA Applied Statistics Symposium

The 34th annual applied statistics symposium of the International Chinese Statistical Association will convene at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel. The theme is "Data-Driven Decision Making: Unleashing the Power of Statistics," with short courses, invited sessions, posters, and more, with Hongtu Zhu, Yu Shen, and Jing Huang giving keynote talks, and Mingyao Li as the banquet speaker. More than 500 statisticians in academia, government and industry are expected to attend. Short course and invited session proposals are due by January 15, 2024. Student paper competition submissions are due by April 1, 2024. We welcome queries about sponsorship and volunteering.

The 2024 Joint Research Conference on Statistics in Quality, Industry and Technology

The 2024 Joint Research Conference on Statistics in Quality, Industry and Technology will be held in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada from June 17-20, 2024 at the University of Waterloo. This is a joint meeting of the 29th Spring Research Conference on Statistics in Industry and Technology and the 40th Quality and Productivity Research Conference. The conference is co-sponsored by the American Statistical Association Section on Quality and Productivity, the American Statistical Association Section on Physical & Engineering Sciences, and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. Organization of this conference is also in partnership with Virginia Tech. The goal of this conference is to stimulate interdisciplinary research and innovative solutions to practical problems though interactions among statisticians, data scientists, quality professionals, engineers, students, and others from diverse fields. The theme of this year's conference is, Data Science and Statistics for Industrial Innovation. The technical program will focus on statistical methodology and creative problem solving to address scientific, industrial, and business challenges, drawing upon advances from the fields of statistics, machine learning, and data science.

International Conference on Establishment Statistics (ICES VII)

The International Conference on Establishment Statistics promotes discussion of a broad range of issues related to the statistics of businesses, farms, and institutions. 4th Corsican Summer School on Modern Methods in Biostatistics and Epidemiology: Statistical methods and recent advances in statistical methods fox excess risk analysis

The Corsican Summer School on Modern Methods in Biostatistics and Epidemiology is a crucial event for learning more about statistical methods and recent advances in statistical methods for analysing excess risk. The fourth edition will take place from July 01st to 05th, 2024, in Corte (Corsica, France). This course will focus on: (i) the main statistical methods and the more recent advances in statistical methods for excess risk analysis, and (ii) the transfer of methods for net survival estimations to some other specific applications (clinical research, occupational epidemiology). The objectives of the course are: (i) to disseminate the concepts, methods and the more recent statistical tools to analyse net survival and excess mortality; (ii) to offer an informal and user-friendly setting of scientific exchanges in order to improve knowledge and practical skills to estimate, model, program, analyse and interpret results of excess risk analysis. The Summer School is aimed at biostatisticians, statisticians, epidemiologists; researchers and students; those working in a registry of cancer, of chronic disease or in any other field relevant to these methodologies and applications.

Online Summer Institute in Statistics for Clinical & Epidemiological Research

SISCER offers introductory and advanced short courses in methods for clinical research and epidemiology. Participants will find learning opportunities for clinical trials, causal inference, biomarker research, and analyzing observational data and complex surveys.

ICORS meets DSSV 2024

The International Conference on Robust Statistics (ICORS) and Data Science, Statistics & Visualization (DSSV) are a joint conference aimed to bring together researchers and practitioners interested in the interplay of robust statistics, data analysis, computer science, and visualization, and to build bridges between these fields for interdisciplinary research. This includes theoretical and applied statisticians as well as data analysts from other fields, and leading experts as well as junior researchers and graduate students. This joint conference shall create a forum to discuss recent progress and emerging ideas in these different disciplines and encourage informal contacts and discussions among all the participants. They also play an important role in maintaining a cohesive group of international researchers interested in robust statistics and related topics, whose interactions transcend the meetings and endure year round.
